25 More Lessons (I've) Learned
27. Don’t Rely On Your LCD

I’ve come across a couple of folks who say they can’t take photos without using the LCD display. Excuse the hubris, but that’s plain old laziness in my opinion.

You’ve got to learn to either keep that camera pinned to your face as if it were the zoom lens of your eye or intuitively know what's in view after interminably experimenting with the camera by holding it so that your LCD is out of view. If you rely on your LCD you automatically limit the range with which you can use your camera.

Besides, use of that screen to take the photo only drains the batteries all too fast. Reserve it for reviewing and editing your photos.
