Gray's Papaya Revisited 03
The Lovely Lina

On July 24, 2006 I went for a trek with the lovely and gracious Kelly Angard (aka: kreativekell) who was visiting New York from Colorado, and Víctor "El Caballero" Puig Vilarrubís (aka: 45Street) also in town on vacation from Barcelona. Together we took a ton of photos of Times Square, as well some of the surrounding area.

Victor requested that we visit one of the hot dog stands I like to take pictures of at the corner of 37th and 8th Avenue, and afterwards we spontaneously stopped by the Pisces Bar and Lounge, which was next door to Gray's Papaya, for a couple of shots.

The lovely Lina, a native of Medellín ("Meh-deh-Jeen" as she would say), Colombia, who had immigrated with her family to New York seven years ago, was our bartender for the evening. She poured copious copas of Aguadiente, her country's national drink.

She was also kind enough to smile for a couple of pictures, but she made me promise to take more of her later, as she was an aspiring model. I did my best to capture her within her colorful, iridescent work environment, attempting to take in the attractive display of bottles behind her. Yet, I couldn't help but focus on her big and beautiful...eyes.
