Lest you think me too "happy" for my own orientation, let me turn your head in the other direction, as this feeble defense in and of itself surely does…

I had to.

Because I knew that tomorrow I had to go back to work, see the sullen faces of strangers on the subway, see dozens more of the hundreds of missing person posters posted in the immediate vicinity of my office (which I've begun to look away from now, to reserve the modicum of serenity I have left. Just like after a few days of depressing non-stop news coverage, I simply had to turn it off to salvage my inner peace.

So, I saw Sound of Music.

You know Julie Andrews (Sister Maria), Do Re Mi, My Favorite Things. Plush vistas of regal Austrian landscape.
