Comments:

The harmonious British duo which makes up the group Floetry have some lessons to learn before they can burn their name into the record books and graduate to the coveted claim of a diva's name.

As poetic as the title track Floetic on their soon-to-be-released album. Floetry, self-entitles itself—it is not. It is still a song worth listening to, but lyrical poetry it cannot proclaim. Soulful rap at most, nu-soul almost, as much as Macy Grey can stake a claim in the burgeoning genre. Jil Scott is nu-soul and she can be truly "floetic" as well.

However, that said, by this inaugural effort they surely have demonstrated the potential for achieving the noble title of being truly poetic in their own music. Although their credits with other artists are notable (M.J. Butler, J.S. Love Again) you can hear reflections of their extensive work with Glenn Lewis on their third track, "Say Yes," of this sampler.

The song Opera is an interesting stream-of-consciousness dream about that thang that moves this certain loquacious and wanton woman to want and let her desire flow off the whet tip of her tongue.
