to write, in stead

The most amazing view of the Empire State Building can be had from one of the uglier corners of Manhattan.

For at 7:00 AM, from the northeast side of 34th Street at Eight Avenue, I saw the façade of this incredible edifice illuminated like a pinnacle of light, a bright tower reflecting the sun that was rising up from the East River and just beginning to bask the metropolis.

The nebulous sky offered a palate of graduating color to preface this concrete and glass wonder upon—a dawning spectacle of yellow-gold unfolding into grey clouds that became a swath of willowy white until the heavens opened up onto a soft, yet bright magnificence of blue.

Initially, I was disappointed that I did not have my camera, but I cannot help retrospectively delight in this imposition, as I was encouraged to write of this glorious vision instead.
