the sun inside (of us)

What a glorious feeling
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love
For love.

It practically feels as if I’m back in grade school again.

As if this is the first day after an extended summer vacation. Sighing with nostalgic pine I roll my eyes and draw myself back in from this senile déjà vu and back into the misty mourning.

For in reality, my summer was spent holed up in an office on Park Avenue.

Nonetheless, dressed in my new tapered suit, knowing many of my colleagues are returning from their repose and play away from work, it still somehow, viscerally feels a little like I’m starting all over again.

And so on this dark and dingy morning that hangs over us like a wet blanket, beginning anew is a brighter beacon to look forward to then a forecast of overcast and what promises to not be very promising.

Which is why I know that even under the cover of this dreary dawn, if there is love—the sun will shine on anyone who cares to feel the warmth of its caress.

Let the stormy clouds chase
Everyone from the place
Come on with the rain
I've a smile on my face
I'll walk down the lane
With a happy refrain
Singing, singing in the rain

Singing in the Rain
