the lost man chronicles

A Sensational 60 Seconds

the street lamp elucidates—
emitting translucent circles of light;

a car whirs in warming mode
breathing mechanically, brrring to my right;

Spring birds chirp, chirp, chirp randomly above,
Soprano pangs of pre-programmed wanton love;

two cars pass, speeding in opposite directions,
splitting before me with symmetrical perfection;

cold air chills, nips at my nape, face and brittle fingers,
each new pique hangs for a few seconds,
registers and lingers.

it is amazing that we ever allow ourselves to get bored,
for the incessant unfolding of life is far from boring.
