21. Eyes Wide Open


Not only should you go about your business always in tune with your environment, opening your eyes to all new good shots, but you should actually practice taking photos with both eyes open (literally).

Seemingly, it is “natural” to shut one eye so that the other might focus via the viewfinder. However, although visually this is true, our brain has the capacity to see more. For by keeping the other eye open, you gain critical peripheral vision, so that you capture that passing fancy just right at the right moment.

And of course, you should certainly take a few dispensable practice shots first, so that you might get your timing down right.
