25 Lessons I Have Learned
10. Know Thy Selfe

Or rather know your equipment (“know thy selfe” just sounds a whole lot better).

Like the rifle assembly exercise scenes we often see in military movies that exact agility and precision, so must the photographer be as agile and intimate with her own equipment. Know your settings, read your manual (more than once) and practice fitting that hand-held mini tripod over and over again.

Ultimately, when you handle your camera as if it were an appendage of your self, you will find yourself taking many great photos and far less bad ones.
